We are serious about your privacy and don’t ask you to identify yourself in order to use the site.

We don’t track you for marketing purposes, but may record some statistical meta-data such as which pages are visited and which links are clicked on. We also track some other data points to help us thwart hackers or other malicious attacks.

We do use cookies and sessions to improve your experience online and to gather evidence on suspected hackers, but not in a way which would compromise your privacy.

Here’s an example of how we use cookies; suppose you fill out the “contact us” page with a useful non-disparaging comment. Then when entering the Captcha code (to prove you’re a human and not a robot), you make a mistake and are presented with an error page. The cookie stores what you have entered so when you are sent back to the page to reenter the code, you don’t have to retype the helpful non-disparaging comment you just made. Once the form is submitted successfully, that cookie is permanently deleted.
